Accountability, inclusivity and transparency is in demand in all areas of tech. This is not industry specific, companies globally are realizing ‘business as usual’ is no longer driving innovation and engagement. A commitment to a plan for change is imperative.

Open Source, like other communities and industries, needs a clear plan for how to operate in this new environment. An Inclusive Digital Community will include three focus areas to help the OS community and others in tech drive change, no matter what their roles are.

We’ll talk about aspirational goals of An Inclusive Digital Community, and the benefits of equity, ethics and inclusion in communities.

Then, we’ll explore how tech companies are pivoting toward practical strategies promoting equality and inclusion such as groups that promote: gender and racial inclusion, wellbeing and health of communities and “re-learning” language and engagement norms.

Finally, participants will walk away with a plan to build An Inclusive Digital Community
  • Commit to introspection and core principles
  • Collaborate on goals
  • Move with deliberate action
  • Measure Progress
